Letter: Evergreen grievances

There are some things going on in Evergreen one needs to comment on. First, in regard to the new fire station, the tenant has had reasonable time to know they needed to find a new location. The taxpayers shouldn’t be expected to pay for their relocation or buyout. One solution is the fire district building a space for them in the new facility. Have to think outside the box.

Second, in regard to bicycles and cars. It is tragic, but we build bike trails for a reason. Should we have Tour De France on our local roads or should we ask that they pay for a bicycle endorsement like motorcycle riders? Is it not too much to ask that the local clubs hire law enforcement as escorts during rides.

Third, as a taxpayer I do not favor paying for special facilities to be built any time a parent realizes their child has some sort of special gift. We didn’t build batting cages for Kevin Kouzmanoff or a film studio for Trey Parker.

Finally, we must all get behind stopping the Full Send complex from being built on Shadow Mountain. We should be against it.
