Evergreen's boys tennis team is on solid footing this season with a 7-2 record, topped off with its most recent win on Sept. 21 at home against Littleton.

Evergreen won all of its matches as it faced Littleton, with an 8-2 record, except the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams.

One of the most exciting aspects of the afternoon was the super-tiebreaker in the No. 4 doubles match between Evergreen freshmen Charlie Barwell and Jacob Mays and Littleton's Rogan Wells and Gabriel Montoya. Evergreen won the third set 10-8 after splitting the first two.

Coach John Shaulis said this year's team of 25 players includes three seniors and nine freshmen, providing the team with some depth. He credits JV coach Jamie McIntosh with helping groom the varsity team.

Evergreen played Golden on Sept. 28, with results unavailable by press time.
