Posted

Just before midnight on Sept. 16, sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance in the 17100 block of Mount Vernon Road. When deputies arrived, they found flames on one of the residences and contacted an adult female outside.

The female was transported to a hospital with serious injuries unrelated to the fire, according to a sheriff’s office’s spokesperson.

Pleasant View, Golden, Fairmount and West Metro fire departments assisted in extinguishing the fire. Investigators verified there was a deceased individual inside the residence.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office will determine the identity of the deceased. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
