Staff reports
Adams 14 School District joined at least two other districts in the Denver area in closing its schools Friday, Nov. 12.
The reason is the same .. staffing shortages. The district announced on its Facebook page the day will be treated as a snow day.
"Similar to school districts throughout Colorado, Adams 14 has been facing staffing shortages this year, especially with our substitute teachers and transportation and nutrition services departments," the Facebook post read. "We would like to thank our school and district staff, who have gone above and beyond to cover the staffing shortages."
Child care, meal, transportation services, school clubs and athletics will be closed Thursday, nov. 11 (for Veterans Day) and nov. 12.
Adams 12 and Boulder Valley schools will be closed Nov. 12 as well for the same reason. Brighton's schools plan to be open Nov. 12. A district spokeswoman said there should be enough substitutes on hand.
