  • New playground equipment slated for Marshdale

The votes have been tallied, and the results are in.

The Asterope won by a landslide.

The Asterope? It’s a piece of playground equipment. Students at Marshdale Elementary were asked to look at five design concepts for their new playground, and they were asked to vote for the one they wanted to play on the most.

Kirsten Hollander, vice president of the Marshdale PTA, said the vote culminates a couple of years of planning to redo the school playground.

  • Cheetah Chicks, Wilmot PTA win in first moms football game

The quarterback takes the snap, fades back into the pocket, has plenty of time, finds an open player and throws. The wide receiver makes a valiant attempt but drops the ball.

This wasn’t a Broncos or Buffs game; it was a play during the first half of the first-ever Wilmot moms football game to benefit the Wilmot PTA.

The Lady Lynxes and the Cheetah Chicks battled it out Nov. 8 on a cloudy, blustery day at the Buchanan football field, with the Cheetah Chicks triumphing 21-7. Their trophy was a Barbie doll sitting atop a gold football.
