  • Gary Sterns, 64

    Gary Sterns was well-known in Evergreen over the past 40 years as a real estate professional, bicyclist, backcountry skier and member of Congregation Beth Evergreen. He succumbed to pancreatic cancer on Jan. 4, 2010.

    Evergreen was his heart and soul; he called it his Camelot. “I didn’t want to live in Detroit anymore,” Gary explained.

    Kenneth Paul Barnett, 16, of Evergreen died Tuesday evening, Jan. 5, 2010. Born in Denver, Kenny moved to the Evergreen/Conifer area five years ago after living in Lakewood and Oklahoma.

    Mara Catherine Parslow graced our lives on Aug. 3, 1993. From the moment she entered our lives, she made an unforgettable impression. God had blessed all of us with a beautiful angel, and in her 16 years of life, she touched the hearts and souls of all who knew her.

    Wayne Eugene Simon completed his baptismal journey at Colorado Acute Care in Denver on Jan. 4, 2010, after a long struggle to survive. His wife, sons and brother were at his side.

  • Crisanne Marie Clark, 55

    Crisanne Marie Clark of Highlands Ranch passed away Jan. 2, 2010.

    She was born Nov. 23, 1954. She was the loving daughter of Dorothy Marie Wilson. She was the beloved mother to Melissa, Nicolette, Jeremiah, Tyler, Hannah and Samantha. She was the loving sister to Catherine Reynolds, Carolyn Davis, Robert Wilson and Cynthia Wilson. She was the Ya-Ya to Ayshia and Amelia.

    Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Rockland Community Church, 17 S. Mount Vernon Country Club Road in Golden.

  • Eileen L. Edwards, 86

    Eileen L. Edwards of Pine passed away peacefully in her sleep during the early-morning hours of Dec. 30, 2009. She was born in Brighton on March 14, 1924.

    She is survived by her son Daniel Turner of Wheat Ridge; sister Rita Barnes of Haywood, Calif.; and brother Paul Egan of Denver.

  • Paul J. Grobner, 90

    Paul J. Grobner, 90, was born in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1919. He moved with his family to the U.S. in 1969.

    His beloved wife, Emilie, preceded him in death. He is survived by his son Peter (Karen) and daughter Magda (Milton).

    Paul held a Ph.D. in metallurgy and had a successful career in scientific research. Paul was a great lover of nature, an artist (painting and photography) and a philosopher. He lived in Evergreen for more than 20 years, where he enjoyed many friendships.

  • Jema Jean Kovar, 78

    Jema Jean Kovar, 78, of Conifer passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, after a long bout with cancer. Raised in Greenfield, Mo., Jema moved to Conifer 35 years ago.

    Many remember her from her 10 years at Anderson Mountain Market in the 1990s. Crafts, gardening, landscaping and spending time with her family occupied her free time. She was active for many years at St. Laurence Episcopal Church in Conifer.

    A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Activation Ministry Center, 166 S. Lookout Mountain Road in Golden.

    Roger Harrison Harvey, 49, passed away at Life Care of Evergreen on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, following complications from a stroke he had on Nov. 30.

    Scott Sweeney, 25, of Evergreen passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009.

    He was the loving son of Marcia and Dan Sweeney of Evergreen. He is survived by his sister, Lindsey, and brother-in-law, Zac Livingston of Nederland; his grandmother, Ann Read of Piper City, Ill.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Raymond and Veronica Sweeney of Gilman, Ill., and Theodore Read of Piper City, Ill.
