Firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, and the North Fork and Platte Canyon fire departments responded to three wildfires burning near Pine on Thursday.

According to Joe Burgett, Platte Canyon assistant fire chief, the fires are on U.S. Forest Service land.

The Raleigh Peak Fire was just west of Raleigh Peak near the intersection of Southwest Platte River Road and Foxton Road, the Lions Gulch Fire was just southeast of the same intersection, and the Night Hawk Fire was near the intersection of Platte River Road and County Road 67, North Fork Fire representatives said.

As of 5 p.m. Thursday, neither the cause of the fires nor the number of acres burned was known.

This is a developing story. The Courier will provide updates as more information becomes available.
