Soccer’s cool cats beat out the dogs

LAKEWOOD — Alaina Avery got a little roughed up in her final game of the 2019 Conifer soccer season, but she wasn’t going to let that stop her from protecting the net with everything she had.

On May 8 as Lakewood Memorial Field amid rainy and snowy conditions, the Conifer junior keeper and the Lobos ended their season with a 3-0 loss to No. 1 D’Evelyn in the 4A state playoffs. Conifer was seeded No. 32.
