Romberg: Resignations lead to more turnover

By Greg Romberg

When the state Senate convened last week, four resignations by members elected in 2016 led to more turnover than usual. Sens. Matt Jones and John Kefalas stepped down because voters in Boulder and Larimer counties chose them to serve as county commissioners for the next four years. Additionally, Sens. Daniel Kagan and Randy Baumgardner, who were both part of the sexual harassment scandals in 2018 — Kagan for reportedly utilizing a woman’s bathroom and Baumgardner for making allegedly unwanted advances to women in the Capitol — have announced their resignations as well.
