Proponents, opponents squabble over dog park proposal

-A A +A
By Deb Hurley Brobst

More than 75 people — both proponents and opponents — strongly expressed to the Evergreen Park & Recreation District board on July 23 their opinions of a proposal for an off-leash dog park in Marshdale.

The proponents, many wearing Friends of Evergreen Dog Park T-shirts, said while the proposal was in its infancy, members of the dog park group were EPRD taxpayers, dog parks are a form of recreation, and the EPRD board should support the proposal to provide recreational opportunities for another segment of the area’s population.
