Democrat comes to Evergreen to meet with Dems

By Vicky Gits

Jared Polis, the Democratic U.S. congressman from Boulder, came to Evergreen on Jan. 21 to meet what he hopes will be his future constituents in Jefferson County as a result of redistricting.

Sponsored by the Mountain Area Democrats, the Saturday meeting at the United Methodist Church attracted a packed room of about 75 people.

"I am not your congressman yet," Polis warned the enthusiastic crowd. "You still have to hassle Mike Coffman on every vote until next January." Polis will stand for re-election to the seat this year.
