Platte Canyon Fire puts question on November ballot

-A A +A
By Sal Christ

The Platte Canyon Fire Protection District is joining a number of other fire districts in placing a mill levy question on the November ballot in hopes of offsetting projected revenue losses associated with the Gallagher Amendment.

Formally approved by the Platte Canyon fire board on Aug. 14, the ballot question seeks permission from voters to allow the district to annually adjust its mill levy “so that in future years the district’s revenue is not reduced from refunds, abatements and changes in the ratio of valuation for assessment.”
