A paraglider crash June 20 on Lookout Mountain left one man dead.

The unidentified victim was one of two paragliders to take off last Friday afternoon. The second paraglider landed safely.

The Jeffco sheriff’s Twitter page said there were multiple witnesses to the crash. Originally the Sheriff’s Office said it was a hang-glider that crashed.

Paragliding is similar to hang-gliding but uses a soft, parachute-like wing to glide, while hang gliders have a rigid frame.
