Evergreen’s Spinzig qualifies for state

ARVADA – Evergreen High golfer Christina Spinzig shot a 9-over 81 on May 10, good enough for fifth place at the 4A Metro West girls golf tournament at West Woods Golf Course.

The finish qualified her for the 4A state tournament to be held at Cobble Creek Golf Course in Montrose on May 24-25.

Spinzig was also named MVP for the 4a Jeffco league.

Teammates Lauren Jagels and Aslinn Scott just missed the cut. Jages finished with a 95 and Scott a 96. The cutoff for state was 92.

Sophomore Jennifer Butler, in her first regional, shot a 122.
