West Metro firefighters put out a brush fire near Red Rocks Country Club at the intersection of C-470 and U.S. 285 in South Jeffco on Wednesday morning.
The call came in around 10:21 a.m., and firefighters had it mostly extinguished by 11:20 a.m., according to Ronda Scholting, spokeswoman with West Metro Fire Rescue.
Although West Metro is still mopping up and could find some hot spots, Scholting said the department is “saying it’s out.” An investigator is on scene to determine a cause.
“Hopefully, maybe, we’ll know how it started sometime today,” Scholting said.
Indian Hills Fire Rescue assisted West Metro by sending a water tender truck.
