As I watched former FBI Director James Comey testify in front of the Senate on Thursday, it brought back a very unpleasant time when I believed I was being asked to do something unethical by my current boss. I was in charge of the call centers that took orders for my company. We had trained 15,000 agents — customer consultants — that their job was to represent the customer and the company equally. Their job was not selling, but rather to help the customers to get the products they wanted. Often customers called not knowing that an item was on sale.
