Board allows home on infill property in Forest Heights

-A A +A
By Deb Hurley Brobst

Despite protests from neighbors, a home can be built on a triangular-shaped lot at 4901 S. Amaro Road in Evergreen’s Forest Heights subdivision.

The Jefferson County Board of Adjustment unanimously voted on Aug. 7 to allow a variance for Douglas Small of Golden to build a house, even though the lot is smaller than zoning regulations require. Jeffco staff had recommended approving the request to allow a lot size of 14,227 square feet when 17,400 square feet is required.

If residents want to appeal the decision, they must file a lawsuit in court.
