Andre Lane competes in the triple jump at the 4A state track and field championships. He made a leap of 43 feet, 5 inches in the preliminaries to land him an eighth-place finish.
Lane jumps onto podium for EHS

LAKEWOOD — The last time Andre Lane competed in the triple jump was two years ago and he doesn’t remember much about that trip. For the record, he finished 16th in 2011.
Fast forward to 2013 and the Evergreen senior was back representing the Cougars’ boys team in all four events they qualified for at the 4A state track and field championships, including the triple jump. But he wasn’t feeling all that confident about his chances of success after the preliminary round.
