At 73 years old, the fabric is worn and stained in some places. The cap was reclaimed after some pilot left it behind. The blouse was tailored and shortened at the bottom to be a more stylish Eisenhower jacket. The pants were reissued with a 36-inch waist, instead of 38. And the jump boots are gone altogether.
George Faust, a 90-year-old World War II veteran, stood at attention in his living room, wearing what is more or less his original uniform from 1943. Both the uniform and the man wearing it are in relatively good condition.
