Fire victims say thanks to Elks
On July 14, the Elks Lodge of Evergreen hosted a phenomenal fund-raiser to benefit the survivors of the Lower North Fork Fire (which burned 23 homes and killed three neighbors in March). The funds go to the Mountain Resource Center in Conifer.
There are 110 seats in the Michigan House of Representatives. Penises occupy 83 of them. Vaginas are sadly underrepresented, and indeed two of them were recently prohibited from speaking out on, of all topics, women’s reproductive rights.
Tolerance, understanding are on loan at the library
Regarding Dave Bagenski’s letter (July 10, “Gay Pride display at library was not appropriate”): As my queer teenage daughter would say, “That letter is wrong in so many ways.”
Library offers display space to variety of groups, points of view
