Now we know where Gerou stands

I live in Cheri Gerou’s district. Now I know exactly where she stands with regard to taking care of children. Nice job, Ms. Gerou, denying funding for breakfast to children whose parents for whatever reason are poor.
Every child (rich, poor, immigrant) has the right to an education, and a child who hasn’t had breakfast can’t learn.

‘Whitewashing’ of Twain an affront to American values

NewSouth Books’ “whitewashing” of Huckleberry Finn is an affront to integrity, and substantially harms the work of art as created by Samuel Clemens by scrubbing away his indictments of racism. What NewSouth Books is doing is morally and ethically wrong, and should be regarded as criminal.
