    Regarding Dave Bagenski’s July 11 letter objecting to the Gay Pride display in the library:
    In other words, if he does not agree with an idea, he doesn’t want the public to have access to the information? I thought a library was supposed to be a source for all kinds of information, not just what one agrees with.

    Fire victims say thanks to Elks

    On July 14, the Elks Lodge of Evergreen hosted a phenomenal fund-raiser to benefit the survivors of the Lower North Fork Fire (which burned 23 homes and killed three neighbors in March). The funds go to the Mountain Resource Center in Conifer.

    Gay Pride display at library was not appropriate

    Recently, I noticed that a large portion of the main display case at the Evergreen Public Library was devoted to advertising and supporting the Gay Pride event held in Denver in mid-June. Prominent signs in favor of “gay sons” and “dyke daughters” were displayed, along with dates for the Gay Pride events downtown.
