Hockey, charity continue at ‘Dawg Pond’ in Indian Hills
    Dear friends and neighbors:
I am the president of Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation, a 501(3)c founded in 2011 by a group of local adult hockey players looking to give back by helping those in need. Our first year blew away all expectations, as we pulled in more than $90,000 and, more importantly, were able to aid seven individuals suffering from illness or injury.

Golf courses are not native to Colorado
    Editor:
In Davidson’s letter about elk damage on the golf course, he states that elk are not native to Colorado. Elk have been pushed by human activity for many decades to be found where they now try to live. Are exclusive elitist golf courses native to Colorado? Not hardly.

Adding bore to Twin Tunnels moves problem to Evergreen
    Editor:
I’m not sure how attentive Evergreen residents have been about what’s going on with the I-70 mountain corridor, but it looks like they’ll be suffering some serious consequences within the next couple of years if CDOT follows through on its plans to widen the eastbound Twin Tunnel bore near Idaho Springs.
    How so?

Vote on short-term rentals ignored constituents
    Editor:
A majority of publicly mentioned opinion was against short-term rentals. The Jeffco Planning Commission recommendation was against short-term rentals.
So the county commissioners voted in favor of them? Was this a philosophical or monetary expression? It certainly does not appear to be a constituent-driven conclusion.

A letter of thanks to Evergreen on Thanksgiving
    Editor:
In this economy it is sometimes difficult to come up with something for which we are or should be thankful. Living in Evergreen, however, makes thankfulness an easy task. We are blessed to live in this community. Last week proved this to be so true.
