Colorful hot-air balloons filled the skies over Bergen Park on May 20.
Some had polka dots, some had letters, some were in bright shades of pink and green and blue.
The balloons were the handiwork of fifth-graders at Bergen Valley Elementary School. Working in groups of two and three, they made the balloons, which measured about 4 feet high and 3 feet wide, out of eight pieces of tissue paper and glue with a wire ring at the bottom.
For the kids, it was fun to make them, fill them with hot air and fly them.
