Not one but two dog parks
Could someone tell me why my tax money was spent to construct, improve and enlarge a beautiful dog park where these canines have an exceptional place to run and play off-leash, when all the while Elk Meadow Park (supposedly for leashed dogs only) is serving the same purpose with dogs running amok?
The every-other-week nature of this column sometimes makes it difficult to be timely, so let me apologize in advance for the lateness of these Memorial Day sentiments. But I hope late is better than never to offer gratitude to those who have given everything for our country, and those who continue to make sacrifices day in and day out.
If it’s summer, then it means Evergreen’s two farmers markets are gearing up.
Both markets — in Bergen Park on Tuesdays and in downtown Evergreen on Wednesdays — start this week and run through September. This year, both are sporting new vendors and more activities to make them family friendly.
