Chick Dykeman, a member of the Evergreen Fire Protection District board for four years, has decided not to run in May 2012 when his current term expires.
"I think people need not to stay on the job forever. These kinds of positions need turnover. It's five years in May," Dykeman told the Canyon Courier last week.
He is looking forward to spending time with his 13-month-old granddaughter and helping his wife, Nancy Dykeman, in her new role when she becomes chairwoman of the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce in January.
