    In the Clear Creek County commission race in District 2, which includes part of Evergreen, animal control officer Thomas Hayden became the lone Republican candidate by voice vote after opponent Christopher Trainor publicly withdrew from the race.

  • Ball bounces Evergreen’s way

    LITTLETON — It’s not like Evergreen didn’t have it chances earlier. It did. But it took a free kick and subsequent Kylee Russell goal to finally put an end to Littleton’s winnning streak against it.
    Russell’s goal in the 62nd minute proved to be the game’s only score as the Lady Cougars toppled host Littleton 1-0 in its season opener at Littleton Public Schools Stadium on March 10. Evergreen snapped the Lady Lions’ three-game winning streak in the series.

  • Board votes 2-1 for final resolution to approve church expansion

    The county commissioners on Tuesday ignored an attempt to disqualify two of the three board members from voting and approved, 2-1, a final resolution to allow Activation Ministries to expand its church on South Lookout Mountain Road.

    Paradise Hills and Cody Park Neighborhood homeowners' associations filed a motion with the Jeffco attorney's office Monday asking to disqualify two commissioners, John Odom and Don Rosier.

    The two had voted in favor of the expansion at a meeting Feb. 28. Commissioner Faye Griffin was the only no vote.
