Susan Lorraine Kittredge, 62, died Dec. 2 at home in Kittredge after complications from a broken hip in July.

She was born Feb. 24, 1946, in Denver and raised in Arvada when it was still a farming community. She was a graduate of Arvada High School. She lived in Kittredge for 35 years.

Her parents were Ralph and Aldon Johnson.

She loved animals. One day, as a preteen, she brought a calf home and said, “Mommy, can I keep him?” When a baby skunk wandered into the backyard, she made it her pet, much to the consternation of her parents and neighbors.

James Robert Bradfield, known for having a twinkle in his eye, passed on Nov. 2 from leukemia.

"Brad," as he was known as a youth in Warsaw, Ill., was in the high school graduating class of 1950.

He served in the Korean War and graduated from Western Illinois University in McComb in 1955. He married Ann Watkins, raising his two children, Lynn and Tom, in Evergreen.

He enjoyed his later life in Mesa, Ariz., sharing his last years with Marilyn Trad and her children.

Glenn Carey Brand, 78, died Nov. 18, 2008, in Wheat Ridge.

He was born Dec. 20, 1929, to Michael H. Brand and Lettie Lee Brand in Aspen. He went to school in Aspen, attended Colorado State University and studied at St. Thomas Seminary College.

Longtime Evergreen resident Thomas John Beyer died Oct. 23, 2008. He had recently relocated to Tucson, Ariz., where he died.

He was born Nov. 19, 1945.

He is survived by three daughters and three grandchildren.

A church service was held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Nov. 3. Graveside services were held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver on Tuesday, Nov. 4, with full military honors.
