Conifer High’s Dustin Morrison (10) blocks a shot by Evergreen’s Luke Camp on Jan. 14 at Conifer High School. Morrison finished with a team-high 17 points, but Evergreen avenged last year’s loss at Conifer with a 60-52 win.
Cougars keep Lobos’ offense in check

CONIFER — A lot has gone the Conifer Lobos’ way lately. Eric Valerio’s boys basketball team — the same program that ended last year with a win over rival Evergreen — had started a school-best 8-0 and was previously ranked No. 10 in CHSAA’s 4A poll.

But Jan. 14, the Lobos were hosting Evergreen, a team flying under the radar a bit thus far in the 2014-15 season and one that was excited to show what it could do.

It did quite well for itself as evident of its 60-52 win at Conifer High School.
