Foothills Rotary’s Ice Melt barrel returns to Evergreen Lake

It’s back!

The barrel returned to Evergreen Lake on Thursday for the 11th year — and area residents are invited to guess when it will fall into the water as part of the Evergreen Ice Melt Contest.

Tickets are $3 for one, $5 for two or $10 for five, and each ticket requires the purchaser to guess the month, day, hour and second the barrel will fall in. As a tiebreaker, purchasers are asked to guess what the high temperature will be on the day the barrel falls in.
