A wildfire burning east of Pine on Wednesday afternoon spurred immediate evacuations, and numerous area fire departments, along with air support, were battling the flames in difficult terrain.
The Jeffco Sheriff’s Office ordered a level 3 evacuation within a 3-mile radius of Foxton and Platte River roads and in the Buffalo Creek township.
A helicopter was making air drops on the Lime Gulch Fire, and a single-engine tanker plane had been requested. A C-130 also had made at least one drop.
