Lindsey Marie Young and Spencer Hudson Brown are engaged to be married.
Lindsey is the daughter of Kristie (Young) McGuire of Evergreen and Steve Young of Atlanta. Spencer is the son of Cheryl Hastings of Evergreen and Dr. Mark Brown of Maine.
Lindsey is a 2002 Evergreen High School graduate and is employed with The Steadman Clinic of Vail as a private operating room nurse. Spencer is a 1996 Evergreen High School graduate and is employed with NOVA guides in Vail as a back-country guide.
Alicia Brummer and Duncan Dotterrer of Denver will marry Sept 29 at Chatauqua Park in Boulder.
Brummer is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Brummer of Baltimore, Md., and Dotterrer is the son of Ilona Dotterrer or Boulder and Bill Dotterrer of Commerce City.

Robert L. Bramel, 73, a former resident of Evergreen, passed away April 6, 2011, in Fort Meyers, Fla., in the arms of Marilyn, his loving wife of 50 years.
He was a modern pioneer and entrepreneur with a deep love of our freedom, faith, family and friends.
Bob’s kindness and inspiration will be missed by many.
On Feb 27, Molly Homburger, a junior at Evergreen High School, was presented the Gold Medal Award in Senior Musical Composition by the Colorado PTA Reflections committee. Her piece, “The Cure,” is a piano and cello duet that will now go on to the National PTA competition, with awards announced in May. The theme of this year’s Reflections contest was “Together We Can” and her piece reflects her mother’s 11-year successful fight against breast cancer.
Katie Maes, Evergreen High School sophomore, Girl Scout Troop 1116, delivers 100 pounds of donated Girl Scout cookies to the EChO food bank on March 9. Maes collected donations (more than 300 total boxes) of cookies that in addition to the EChO food bank, were also delivered to the Evergreen Mountain Area Pregnancy Center and to Mean Street Ministries.
Mackenzie Iddings, Tate Grove and Michael Iddings competed in Rounds 1 and 2 of the Rocky Mountain Enduro Circuit’s opening race of the 2011 season on Feb. 5. The Duel in the Desert featured a cactus-riddled single-track course with technical sections, deep sand and open-range cattle. The local racers fared well against a competitive field from the mountain west.
The University of Colorado Buffs has honored Shaye Evans, an eighth-grader at Evergreen Middle School, for great attitude.
Qwest, Fox Sports Network Rocky Mountain and CU have named Evans a 2010-11 Winning Attitude Award winner. Winners are selected from a pool of stories submitted by middle school students explaining how their winning attitude made a difference in their communities. Students are honored for their outstanding efforts in sportsmanship, community involvement and teamwork.
