Evergreen Christian Church is hosting a forum on volunteerism during a brown-bag lunch at noon May 23. The forum is designed for people interested in learning about ways to serve the community and also for organizations in need of volunteers, said Virginia White of Evergreen Christian Church, who is organizing the event.
“People who need volunteers and those who want to volunteer are welcome to attend,” White said.
Mary Petrich, volunteer coordinator for Evergreen Christian Outreach, will be the speaker at the lunch. She will discuss volunteer opportunities at EChO and also the organization’s job program for those seeking employment.
The idea for the program came out of the Senior Empowerment Conversations series that the church offered earlier this year, White said.
While talking with people, White said she began to realize that many residents of the community are not aware of ways in which they can become involved as volunteers.
People who would like to attend the brown bag lunch are asked to R.S.V.P. by May 18. Please call Virginia White at 303-674-7248 or send an email to  HYPERLINK "mailto:virginiajwhite@comcast.net" virginiajwhite@comcast.net.
Attendees should bring their own lunches. Drinks will be provided.
Evergreen Christian Church is at 27772 Iris Drive. The church phone number is 303-674-3413.
