Victims of Lower North Fork Fire to take their case to legislature

Victims of the Lower North Fork Fire still feel that state government has failed them and should stand accountable for starting the March blaze that destroyed 23 homes, killed three people and burned 4,100 acres south of Conifer.

They resent that the state has required homeowners to join their lawsuits with those of insurance companies when trying to seek restitution for lost property.

They resent that the state-appointed Lower North Fork Fire Commission has focused on abstract fire management issues rather than investigating the causes of the blaze.
