A 2-year-old black bear was killed by a vehicle on I-70 about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The bear was struck by an eastbound vehilce near Floyd Hill, and the Division of Wildlife removed the remains Wednesday morning. There were no injuries to the motorist who reported the incident.
"It's very common," said Jennifer Churchill, spokeswoman for the DOW. "Unfortunately, I-70 was built through a wildlife corridor. We'd like to remind people to drive slow and keep their eyes open for wildlife."
