Jimmy Reynolds, a junior two-way lineman for Evergreen, was carried off the field Aug. 21 with a right ankle injury during the team’s intrasquad scrimmage at Evergreen High School.

The injury took place within the opening hour of a three-hour workout. He was later transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

Details of the severity of his injury were not made available. His status for Evergreen’s Aug. 27 season opener at Moffat County was unknown.

Reynolds, who was scheduled to start at both offensive and defensive tackle, also sustained a laceration on his right ankle after another player stepped on him with their cleat.

“He did look like he got cleated. He should be OK,” Evergreen head coach Rob Molholm said.
