Sub Shoppe has new owner, new menu

The new owner of the Sub Shoppe has made the transition from sound engineer to restaurant owner.

“I’m self-taught in the culinary field. I enjoy very good food,” said Stefan Phillips, whose shop is on Highway 74 next to Conoco in Evergreen. “One of the things I prided myself on doing was learning to cook good food.”

Before moving to Evergreen last year, Phillips worked as a touring sound engineer. He said he learned a lot about good and bad food while on tour because the staff was at the mercy of various caterers.
