Two mountain area schools were closed early May 13 during a spring snowstorm that cut power to thousands of residents.
Roughly 4,000 thousand homes experienced intermittent power outages over a 12-hour period during the latest storm to hit the foothills, according to Xcel Energy spokesman Tom Henley.
By midday May 13, power to most homes had been restored.
Outages began soon after the storm hit late Monday, May 12. Sporadic outages continued through the morning hours of Tuesday.
