Crews’ last-second goal propels Evergreen in season opener
— Brett Crews scored with 3 seconds remaining as Evergreen avoided a fourth-period collapse and escaped with a 9-8 victory over host Windsor on March 8.
The Cougars (1-0) led 2-1 after the first period, 5-3 at halftime and 7-4 going into the fourth period before Windsor rallied to tie the game at eight.
Evergreen is scheduled to play its home opener March 12 against Legend before travling to Cheyenne Mountain for a game on March 14.

Evergreen golfers tee off at Elizabeth in the 2014 opener

The Evergreen Lady Cougars open the 2014 season at the Elizabeth Invitational on March 17.
Members of the 2014 EHS roster include state qualifier Madison Tenney, Finland exchange student Milla Alavuontunki and fellow senior Emily Rivers. Also on the team are Katherine Halama, Natalie Holley, Megan Ito, Rebekah Nestingen, Jenna Reid and Lian Rivers.
Evergreen will play at Applewood Golf Course in Golden on March 19.

Evergreen track team to run at Jeffco Stadium on March 12

The Evergreen Cougars boys and girls varsity track teams will open the 2014 season on March 12 in a 4A Jeffco League meet at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood.
The Ralston Valley Relays, which was to have been the opener on March 7, was canceled due to inclement weather.
