Tenney cards course-low 77, wins at West Woods
— Evergreen junior Madison Tenney carded a 77 for medalist honors at the 4A Jeffco League golf tournament April 8 at West Woods Golf Course. Tenney overcame a quadruple bogey on her 11th hole to finish nine shots ahead of Karli Denk of Golden and Nicole Rooney of Green Mountain. Tenney shot even par on her front nine.
Evergreen, as a team, placed third for a third consecutive tournament, finishing behind Golden and D’Evelyn.
The Lady Cougars’ Emily Rivers shot a 101 to tie for ninth, Kelsey Evezich was 16th with a 113, Megan Ito carded a 135, and Hanna Esau shot a 137.

Gibbins, Moss lead hit parade in EHS’ rout of Arvada
— Daniel Gibbins and Lute Moss drove in four runs each and 11 different batters had hits as Evergreen rolled past host Arvada 22-2 on April 8.
The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Josh Bellatti went 4-for-5 with three runs scored. Joe Danni and Gibbins had three hits each for the Cougars (5-2 overall, 2-1 4A Jeffco League). Jack Drumright picked up the win, striking out 10 in the complete game.
The win was Evergreen’s third in four games.

Skold, Schulz finish second at Legend Track Clash
— Sam Skold placed second in 5 minutes, 35.72 seconds, and Caitlin Schmitt was third in 5:36.82 in the girls 1,600 meters April 6 at the Legend Track Clash at Sports Authority Stadium.
Emily Schulz placed second in the 800 in 2:29.72, while the girls 4x200 relay team of Mackenzie Skold, Kylee Petrik, Marie Newkirk and Maddie Mosby was fourth in 1:52.41. They helped the Lady Cougars to an eighth-place team finish with 41 points.
The Evergreen boys placed 11th with 23 points. Leading the charge was Chase Kelley’s fourth-place finish in the boys high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches. Thomas Warren took fifth in the triple jump at 41-4.5, while Kelley was sixth at 41-3. The boys 4x800 relay team of Alex Aafedt, Eric Temple, Daniel Holmes and Collin Molleur placed sixth in 8:47.61.

Trask, Air Academy dispose of visiting Evergreen
— Jack Trask scored a game-high four goals, while Mitchell Miller and Jase Wyeno also had hat tricks as host Air Academy toppled Evergreen 16-3 on April 6.
Air Academy, which led 9-3 at halftime, had seven different goal scorers.
Brett Crews, Dylan Haga and Connor Townsend scored goals for Evergreen (3-4).
