Junior QB Curtis throws for 4 TDs in Cougars’ win over Demons

Junior quarterback Jack Curtis completed 11-of-16 passes for 260 yards and four touchdowns — two of them to former starting quarterback John Cassell — as Evergreen upended Glenwood Springs, 38-32, on Oct. 19 at Evergreen High School.
Ryan Hays caught six passes for 167 yards and a score, while Marcus Cassin and Connor Kissler also had touchdowns for the Cougars (4-4).
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Evergreen, which sits 16th in 3A wildcard points entering the final two weeks of the regular season.

7th-grade team holding Gold Crown tryouts at Wulf Rec Center

The Evergreen Cougars’ 7th-grade boys basketball team will be holding Gold Crown tryouts on Oct. 28 from 2-3:30 p.m.
Tryouts will be held at the Wulf Recreation Center.

Ikeler, Potter lead Green Mt. to semifinal-round win over EHS

LAKEWOOD — Hannah Ikeler had 21 kills and Danielle Potter added 18 as top-seeded and host Green Mountain toppled Evergreen 25-7, 22-2, 25-23, 25-20 in the semifinals of the 4A Jeffco League tournament on Oct. 18.
It was the second time this season the Lady Rams beat EHS by a 3-1 score.
The loss dropped Evergreen to 8-10 on the season. The Lady Cougars wrap up the regular season at the Colorado Invite on Oct. 26-27.
