Cougars run unbeaten streak to eight games, top Wheat Ridge
— Ethan Jackson scored his team-high 11th goal of the season and two other players also scored in Evergreen’s 3-1 victory over Wheat Ridge on Oct. 8 at Lakewood Memorial Field.
Collin Molleur and Adriano Borsa also scored as the Cougars (9-1-2, 5-0 4A Jeffco League) stretched their undefeated streak to eight games. Borsa also added two assists.
Junior goalkeeper Matthew Hornbecker made nine saves in net.

Willis, Lutheran spoil Evergreen’s homecoming with 29-7 victory

James Willis threw a pair of touchdown passes — both to Joshua Clausen — as Lutheran spoiled Evergreen’s homecoming with a 29-7 victory Oct. 5 at Evergreen High School.
The loss dropped the Cougars (3-3, 2-1 3A Metro West) into a four-way tie for first place in the conference with Lutheran, Conifer and D’Evelyn. Evergreen plays D’Evelyn on Oct. 12 at Trailblazer Stadium in Lakewood.
The Cougars’ lone score came on a Ryan Hays’ fourth-quarter TD run.

Lady Cougars run winning streak to four straight, top Alameda

Genevieve DeGrandchamp had six aces, and Evergreen scored 16 points off her serve en route to a 25-7, 25-15, 25-13 win over Alameda on Oct. 4 at Evergreen High School.
The win was the fourth straight for the Lady Cougars (7-6, 4-2 4A Jeffco League). Kira Nielander had a team-high six kills.

Ragan Wickham went 3-for-4 with three doubles for EHS (11-8, 5-2 4A Jeffco). It was Lady Cougars’ third straight win and fifth in six games.
