Jackson’s sixth goal helps EHS shut out Sailors
Ethan Jackson scored his sixth goal of the season as Evergreen defeated Steamboat Springs, 1-0, on Sept. 22 in a non-conference game at Evergreen High School.
Junior goalkeeper Matthew Hornbecker made four saves for the Cougars.
Evergreen (5-1-1, 1-0 4A Jeffco) has won three straight games.

Skold leads Evergreen girls to first-place finish at Broomfield
BROOMFIELD — Sammy Skold ran a time of 20 minutes, 22 seconds to lead four Evergreen female runners to a Top-15 finish as the Lady Cougars won the Broomfield Invitational on Sept. 22.
Skold placed 10th, followed by Caitlin Schmitt (11th, 20:26), Jane Jensen (12th, 20:35) and Camille Morales (15th, 20:49). EHS tied D’Evelyn with 75 points, but won on a tiebreaker.
Evergreen’s top male finisher was Sam Sahli, who finished 21st in 17:40. The Cougars’ boys team finished sixth with 162 points. Pomona won with 40 points, followed by Broomfield with 89.
