GIRLS GOLF
Tenney leads charge with 90 as Evergreen placed third
LITTLETON
— Sophomore Madison Tenney shot a 90 to lead Evergreen to a third-place finish at the 4A Jeffco League girls golf match at the Meadows Golf Course on April 18.
Tenney placed fifth in the 40-golfer field.
Valor Christian took team honors after scoring the top three places en route to a 341 team score. Golden was second at 356, followed by Evergreen with a 401.
Senior Rachel Bechtholdt shot a career-best 95 to place 10th. This was after she had a double bogey, triple bogey and quadruple bogey on her first three holes.
Jennifer Butler carded a 107, while Nikola Hynes was two shots back at 109.

GIRLS SOCCER
Lady Cougars rout Elizabeth, prep for battle with Green Mt.

Nicole Adreon had a hat trick and seven other players scored goals as Evergreen stretched its unbeaten streak to five games with a 10-0 home victory over Elizabeth on April 20 at EHS.
Taylor Rauch, Ellie Petrik, Grace Ventimiglia, Jessie Wormer, Hanaah Kitting, Sydney Donati-Leach and Jenny Ventimiglia also scored goals for the Lady Cougars.
Evergreen scored early and often, jumping out to a 7-0 lead before intermission.
The Lady Cougars improved to 8-1-3 overall, 5-0-2 in the 4A Jeffco League with the win. Evergreen will play league-leading Green Mountain (10-0-1, 6-0-1 4A Jeffco) on April 27 at Lakewood Memorial Field. The game will go a long ways in determining the league title.

BOYS LACROSSE
Olson, Cougars get back on track with win at Palmer
COLORADO SPRINGS
— Braden Olson scored a game-high five goals and assisted on two others as Evergreen bounced back from its loss to Wheat Ridge with a thrilling 13-12 win over host Palmer on April 21 at Garry Berry Stadium.
Reilly Fletcher added a hat trick and Evan Dyba scored twice. Scott Crews, Erik Nestigen and Neil Olson completed the scoring for Evergreen (11-1 overall, 5-1 Foothills Conference).
Jake Bender and Caleb Toomey split time in goal, combining for 11 saves.
Evergreen plays Columbine on April 25 in the conference finale for both teams. The Cougars need a win to earn a share of the league crown, while Columbine would win it outright with a victory.
