Five businesses hit in crime spree on May 14

Jeffco sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man they suspect of burglarizing two salons, a thrift shop, a yoga studio and a restaurant in Evergreen on May 14.

“There’s a strong chance he’s from the Evergreen area,” sheriff’s spokesman Mark Techmeyer said. “He had a plan.”

Four of the businesses were open when a man made his way into areas intended for employees only and stole cash, a wallet and an iPhone, according to reports.

The man pretended to be looking for commercial space to rent and was shown inside one of the salons while it was open for business. The landlord showed him around and then left the man in the business to take photographs.

While in the salon, the man stole a money bag from the cash register area, according to reports.

The man went into a restaurant and ordered a sandwich shortly before closing time, said Techmeyer. He then went into a back entrance, and an employee saw him in a hallway.

The Sheriff’s Office has released a photo of a suspect from surveillance video. He is described as a white male in his late 30s or early 40s with a medium build and brown, curly hair. In the photo, he is seen wearing a while polo shirt, blue jeans and a fanny pack.

Anyone with information regarding these crimes is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612.
