Two bodies found last Thursday on Mount Evans were those of two hikers from Minnesota who went missing in April, a Clear Creek County sheriff’s officer has confirmed.
One of the bodies was found in steep, rugged terrain in the Vance Creek area by local hikers, said Bruce Snelling, operations division captain at the Sheriff’s Office. The other body was found near the first one by members of the Alpine Rescue Team and Rocky Mountain Rescue Team. Searchers were already in the area and found the body while responding to the group of local hikers, Snelling said.
