Master Craftsman Norm Lubben, of Premier Specialty Contractors Inc., builds a form around the base of the statue at the Mother Cabrini Shrine on Lookout Mountain Oct. 25. The statue was damage by lightning in May and is undergoing reconstruction. The lightning broke off one of Jesus’ arms, a hand and damaged the base of the statue along with one of his feet. The statue is 22 feet tall and stands atop an 11-foot base. Next week’s UpSlope will feature updated coverage and photos of the reconstruction.
