An Evergreen pedestrian was killed Monday evening while trying to cross Evergreen Parkway at Brookline Road.
James Steele, 65, was fatally struck by a northbound vehicle about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 as he crossed the busy highway in the direction of Hiwan Country Club. According to a Colorado State Patrol report, Steele walked into the path a 1990 Mazda MX-6 driven by Conifer resident Nathan Meader, 23, who sustained minor injuries in the accident. Steele was pronounced dead at the scene.
