Ignorance comes at a high price

Rob Witwer’s column “Spending cuts lessen the burdens on our kids” makes the point that tough budget choices lie ahead. The title might be interpreted to suggest that the school day or year should be shortened, but it turns out his plea was simply to cut spending. Perhaps that works for the new-era Republicans, but my hope is that we elected leaders to make decisions on how to invest in our future.
