Veterans deserve a statue that depicts the reality of combat
Editor:
To all those who dare to bring about a controversy about the statue of a soldier holding a rifle at the veterans memorial, I have this to say:
The Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington, Va., is guarded 24/7, 365 by actual soldiers with actual rifles. Our brave veterans serving now, honorably discharged, deceased, died with the ultimate sacrifice, and all our brave ones who have returned home disabled deserve the best. They deserve more then we can ever give them as a society.
